Hand crafted 37 pound thick log slab designed into a beautiful rustic coat rack.
This is 39 inch long and 3 inches thick and ranges from 9 1/2-15 inches wide.
The base slab is an aged slab of mill cut White  Oak.  It has maintained a deteriorated bark edge.  The sap wood has insect trail designs.  The rustic cracking front surface was treated with boiled linseed oil to minimize the glossy shine.  The surface has some light mill blade saw marks.  The bark edge was coated with 2 coats of satin polyurethane to help keep the bark from flaking loose.
The hanger pegs were created from a wedge shaped split Pacific Yew.  Each piece has a light coat of boiled linseed oil.  The hangers are secured with thick lag bolts.  The hangers have a slightly upward slope to help with holding your favorite cowboy hat.
Please notice the fantastic bark characteristics of the Yew.
The last picture is of the back.  I spaced the mounting brackets 16 inches apart.  Under the brackets is a hole to allow your bolt to slide inside the 3 inch thick slab.  This is a very heavy piece that will need careful mounting attention and solid bolts into wall joist.
I added some felt pads to protect your wall.
I burnt the date into the back of the piece.
This will look fantastic in your cabin.
